The Kern County Library has announced temporary closures of certain branches to facilitate safety and infrastructure upgrades funded by the Building Forward Library Infrastructure Grant, which was awarded $12.8 million through Senate Bill 129 in the 2021 Budget Act. These improvements aim to address critical maintenance and life-safety needs, creating more inviting spaces for the community.

During closures, residents can access the library's digital collection, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, and streaming content, available 24/7 at kerncountylibrary.org/elibrary. The library expresses gratitude for the community’s patience and looks forward to reopening with enhanced facilities for a better visitor experience.
