(Metro News Service) The holiday season is a festive time of year, and alcohol tends to feature prominently in the festivities. While it's perfectly alright for adults to enjoy a drink come the holiday season, some might want to abstain from alcohol, particularly if they're getting behind the wheel after a party.
Hosts can keep in mind that some guests may not want to drink alcohol during a party. But that doesn't mean they won't appreciate a unique and flavorful drink. In such instances, hosts can mix up this non-alcoholic "Redcurrant Cocktail" from Lines+Angles.
Redcurrant Cocktail

Makes 2 servings
Reserve two sprigs of redcurrants for the garnish and put the rest in a sieve. Press down firmly with the back of a spoon to collect the juice, then pour it into a cocktail shaker.
Add the ginger syrup and lemon juice to the shaker and add a handful of ice. Shake for 2 minutes until chilled and diluted.
Strain the cocktail into two small martini glasses and garnish each one with a sprig of redcurrants and a piece of gold leaf.

- 3 tablespoons ginger syrup
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 gold leaves
