Check your pantry: Target has recalled 26,500 units of Good & Gather baby food for elevated lead levels. The 4-ounce tubs have Best By Dates until December 2025.

Target has voluntarily recalled a Good & Gather baby food product due to an elevated lead level. The recalled item is “Good & Gather Baby Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree Net Wt. 4 oz. (113g). 6+ months,” per the FDA. The recall, categorized as “Class II,” encompasses 25,600 units, initiated on March 12, 2025. The FDA defines "Class II" as cases where use or exposure might lead to temporary or reversible adverse health effects, with a low risk of serious outcomes.

Products affected have “best by” dates of Dec. 9, 2025, and Dec. 7, 2025 (Lots 4167 and 4169), and were manufactured by Fruselva USA, Miami, Florida. Lead exposure in children can harm brain and nervous system development, cause behavioral issues, and disrupt growth, per the CDC. The FDA notes that lead exposure in children often lacks obvious symptoms and recommends blood tests for detection.

Target, whose Good & Gather line is its best-selling food brand since launching in 2019, stated: “At Target, we’re committed to providing safe, high-quality products for our guests. We require our suppliers to comply with all applicable food safety standards and federal, state, and local regulations. This recall involved a limited amount of product, which we took immediate action to remove from our shelves.”

The company confirmed no affected products remain in circulation. Consumers can return impacted products to Target for a refund or contact Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680.
