United Way of Central Eastern California Announces Leadership Transition: President and CEO, Mari Pérez-Dowling, to Move Up to Worldwide Level
Bakersfield, CA. September 18, 2024 – United Way of Central Eastern California announces the leadership transition of its President and CEO, Mari Pérez-Dowling, who will be stepping down from her role effective October 11, 2024. She will be taking on an exciting new position as Vice President of Government Partnerships, GGRF at United Way Worldwide, effective October 14, 2024.
In her statement, Pérez-Dowling shared, “I am deeply honored to step into the role of Vice President of Government Partnerships, GGRF at United Way Worldwide. This national-level appointment is a testament to the incredible work and dedication of our team. Performing this role from the headquarters of UWW in Alexandria, Virginia, I am excited to continue driving impactful change and fostering sustainable development on a global scale.”
Since joining United Way, Mari has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission, expanding services, and fostering meaningful partnerships throughout the community. Under her leadership, the chapter has seen significant growth in both outreach and impact, making a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.
The board and staff at United Way of Central Eastern California express their gratitude for Mari's remarkable contributions and leadership during her seven-year tenure. While her presence will be greatly missed, the organization is committed to continuing its vital work and ensuring a smooth leadership transition.
