Kern County Family Magazine (KCFM) earned 11 national honors at the 2026 Association of Community Publishers (ACP) Best of the Best Awards, competing with community publications nationwide. The awards recognize excellence in publishing, design, advertising, editorial work, and community service.
KCFM received two first‑place awards, including Self‑Promotion – Awards for the December 2025 “Refrigerator Door” feature and Community Service for the November 2025 issue. The magazine also earned three second‑place awards for the September 2025 self‑promotion piece, the Kern Family Healthcare half‑page ad, and original editorial photography from July 2025.
1ST PLACE: Community Service Editorial Award
The publication rounded out its achievements with six third‑place awards, including General Excellence for the May 2025 issue, Contest Promotion for web ad, the October 2025 cover, an ad series for Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County, the June 2025 “Humor at Home” article, and the Andrew Shapiro Cancer Awareness Award for the October 2025 “Hello, Happy Mama” feature.
2ND PLACE: Best Original Photography–Editorial.
