The City of McFarland is proud to announce the Hometown Heroes Banner Program, a new initiative to honor and recognize our community’s active-duty military members, retired veterans, and fallen service members.

Through this program, banners featuring the names and photos of honorees will be proudly displayed in McFarland as a public show of gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

Eligibility

To qualify, honorees must meet one of the following:

• Active-duty military personnel from the United States Armed Forces;
• Current or former McFarland resident;
• Immediate family member of a current McFarland resident (including parent, guardian, spouse, child, grandchild, or in-law); or
• Currently employed with the City of McFarland, McFarland Unified School District, a McFarland business, or a McFarland special district.

Program Details

• Application Deadline: October 17, 2025
• Banner Fee: $65 (payable at City Hall)
• Required Documents:
  • Proof of McFarland residency or employment
  • Verification of active duty, honorable discharge, or retirement papers
  • Digital image of the honoree in official uniform
