This prestigious award recognizes organizations that demonstrate a long-standing commitment to civic generosity and exceptional charitable contributions in the Delano community.
“We are truly humbled to receive the Philanthropy Award, as it reflects our dedication to serving Delano through meaningful programs, partnerships, and services that deliver on our commitment to our community’s well-being,” said Kiyoshi Tomono, Partnership Executive for Adventist Health in Central California.
Adventist Health Delano has cultivated a legacy of community service through a host of initiatives:
- Community Garden: Providing community members with free access to garden plots where they can grow fresh, chemical-free fruits and vegetables. The garden offers therapeutic and nutritional benefits, especially in a region recognized as a food desert.
- Education & Community Health Programs: Adventist Health’s broader network has invested significantly in community benefit efforts — totaling tens of millions of dollars statewide — including charity care, community health improvements, education, and research, laying a strong foundation that supports local endeavors like those in Delano.
Adventist Health sincerely thanks the Delano Chamber of Commerce for this award, and its community members for their continued trust and partnership in health.
