Affordable Spay & Neuter Services for Kern County Residents

The Regional Occupational Center (ROC) PETS Clinic is celebrating World Spay Day on February 25, 2025, by offering essential pet care services at an affordable rate to residents in unincorporated areas of Kern County. These services, available through May, are funded by a grant from Kern County Animal Services and will be provided at the ROC Veterinary Hospital, 501 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, 93307.

World Spay Day is observed annually in February, highlighting the importance of spaying and neutering pets to prevent overpopulation and promote healthier animals. ROC PETS will provide spay/neuter surgeries along with additional preventative care services, including:
  • Flea/Tick Treatment*
  • Rabies, Parvo/Distemper & Kennel Cough Vaccines*
  • Deworming (for pets up to six months old)

**Services available only at the time of surgery

A $20 deposit is required to secure an appointment. Spaces are limited, so pet owners are

encouraged to book early.

"By participating in World Spay Day, we are taking a proactive step toward reducing the number of

stray and unwanted animals in our community," said Frankie Cowan, ROC Vet Tech Instructor.

"Spaying and neutering not only helps control the pet population but also improves their long-term

health."
